un/conscious x Re/lax Remade
Emerging country artist Jamie-Lee Garner is debuting her first solo exhibition, un/conscious, at Firstdraft in Sydney's Woolloomooloo, from Friday October 18 to November 24.
un/conscious is a kaleidoscopic wall of colour featuring sixteen brightly coloured and tactile 2.5D canvases composed of recycled vintage towels offcuts, salvaged from the Re/lax Remade factory floor.
Entry to un/conscious is free and Firstdraft is open from 11am-8pm Wednesday and 11am-5pm Thursday to Saturday. Those wishing to attend the opening are warmly invited to attend from 6pm, Friday 18 October 2024.
We hope to see you there!
Alongside Jamie-Lee's work, a new collection of patchwork hats has been born, Re/lax Remix, made also from vintage towel scraps.
Founder of Re/lax Remade, Karina Barker, explains: "I am always trying to find a different way to say the same thing: that by looking at things differently, challenging traditional ideas, we can create an energy and a beauty that is greater than the sum of it's parts.".
The Re/lax Remix drop will be available to purchase from October 24 at 5pm AEDT.
